Pastor arraigned for pursuing worshipers with stick, threatening to burn down church in Lagos

A Pastor of the Ministry of Gospel of God Church, identified as Jones Nwaeze, was at the weekend arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ court in Lagos for allegedly chasing worshipers with sticks and threatening to set the church ablaze.
Nwaeze, who lives at Oba Akinjobi Road, Ikeja, was arraigned for breach of peace and assault before Magistrate Mrs. Y.O. Ekogbule.
According to the Police Prosecutor, Insp. Clement Okuoimose, the accused committed the offences on Feb. 12 at No. 95, Tina St., Ojodu, Lagos.
Okuoimose said that the 56 year-old pastor conducted himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by chasing away other worshipers with stick and fuel.
The prosecutor further explained that the accused invaded the church during Saturday morning prayers, disrupted the service and assaulted some of the worshipers with sticks.
According to the prosecutor, the security at the church gate tried to stop the accused from gaining access into the premises because it was not the first time he was disrupting church service.
“He [pastor] hit the security man with a stick on the head, dragged him on the ground and the security man sustained injuries.
“One of the worshipers alerted the police who rushed to the scene,” the prosecutor said.
He further said the accused claimed ownership of the church and that he had invested heavily on it by bringing coverts and he needed his share.

“Mary went to the village in 2011 to confess her adulterous acts, afterwards, a traditional cleansing was performed on her and l accepted to forgive her after much pleading.
“But my wife never stopped her immoral ways. She kept conversing with the same man and flirting about.
“On one occasion, l caught my wife signaling to my neighbour’s husband to meet her up. Due to my wife’s immoral ways, business has not been going smoothly for me.

The respondent, a petty trader, who pleaded guilty to the allegations, begged court to save her marriage amid tears.

I warned Nigerians about Buhari, he has no direction – PDP chieftain, Kaze

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a former member of the House of Representatives. Hon. Bitrus Kaze has stated that he warned Nigerians against voting for Muhammadu Buhari in 2015.
The ex-lawmaker said Buhari had succeeded in taking Nigeria back to zero level and that it would only take time for the country to recover.
Speaing with Sun, Kaze said anyone advising Buhari to run for second term was only being deceptive as the president was unfit to govern the country beyond 2019.
He said, “Before I left the National Assembly, I warned our successors, that they will be dealing with somebody who finds legislative institution strange, which he has never agreed to deal with, and with due respect, I think I am being vindicated.
“The President does not seems to agree or believe in anybody, the President does not understand the difficulty his policies, if any have put Nigerians into, even though up to this moment, I do not understand the policy direction of his administration. It was only late last year that he put an economy team in place.
“He did not know the direction the government is going and as a former member of the House of Representatives, Buhari does not have clear policies in place. International investors are left at a lost and that has led to closure of companies, which resulted to loss of jobs; I am not sure this is the change Nigerians expected.”
Asked if Buhari is fit to run for second term, the PDP stalwart said, “Count me out, I have been consulted by prominent personalities who are in that group and I told them that my personal understanding of President Muhammadu Buhari, is that he does not appeal to me as a person who take the interest of Plateau state at heart, I have never seen that, even when he won election on the Plateau during the 2015 Presidential election.
“For Goodluck Jonathan to get 500, 000 votes and President Buhari getting 400, 000 where Jonathan got 1 million votes in 2011 and Buhari had less than 200, 000 votes, to me Buhari won, for the fact that the President got substantial votes, he has not demonstrated to me that he appreciates the ideals of a Plateau man.
“Plateau is my home and anybody who will not take the interest of Plateau at heart, I am not likely to support that person. If President Buhari is going to contest for 2019, that is his business, but please count me out.”

Pete Edochie is my dream husband, I must marry him – Actress, Blessing Brown

Liberian-born Nollywood actress, Blessing Brown, has revealed her desire to have an affair with veteran actor, Pete Edochie.
The actress said she has been nurturing a passionate desire to bury herself in the arms of the iconic actor.
According to her, older men are the real deal and are more suitable for marriage because of their wealth of experience.
Brown has featured in over 10 Nollywood films since she came into the country six months ago.
She told the Entertainer, “Since I was a child, I have been crushing on him. I still look forward to seeing myself in the arms of Pete Edochie. I don’t mind the fact that he is married; he is my dream husband.
“I like the way he talks, walks and acts. Nobody else can substitute him in my life right now. Not even his younger version, Yul Edochie; he doesn’t entice me. All I want is Pete and not his sons or look alike “I love him regardless of his age. Older men make good husbands. Age is just a number. If I love a 70-year old man, I don’t see why I shouldn’t marry him.
“I don’t have time for small boys still running around and wearing studs in their ears with lots of chains hanging around their necks.”
She also added that aside being old, her lover must be wealthy as well. “Any man that wants to date or marry me must be tall. I can’t date a short man because I will always be looking at him like he is my child.
“I want someone that I would look up to. He has to be rich and caring too. Handsomeness is an added advantage.”
On the reasons she came to Nigeria to pursue her acting career, Ms Brown said that back in her country, Nigerian actors were seen as gods and everyone looked forward to acting alongside them.
“In Liberia we see Nigerian actors as gods. That is why the likes of Frank Artus, Juliet Ibrahim, and  Van Vicker among a host of others moved over to Nigerian.
“Now I am here and I look forward to taking over from Yvonne Nelson and Ini Edo among others”, she stated.

I will not keep quiet – 2face insists on protest despite police warning

Popular Nigerian singer, 2face Idibia, has vowed to continue with the nationwide protests scheduled for February 6, despite warnings from the police.
The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, on Wednesday stated that the artist does not have the capacity to control any possible outbreak of violence in the cause of the demonstration He also said they had received intelligence report, that miscreants were planning to take advantage to attack innocent Nigerians.
Owoseni said: “Information reaching us revealed that some hoodlums are planning to hijack the peaceful protest. And as such, we won’t allow it to hold in Lagos. We know that Tuface do not have the capacity to contain such a crowd and we will not fold our hands and watch while things go out of hand.
“The Civil Society had said that they do not need police permission to carry out any peaceful protest, but they should also be aware that there might be those who share an opposing view. This set of persons may want to disrupt the peaceful demonstration and would want to attack demonstrators.
“This is why we advise individuals or group of persons who may wish to embark on civil demonstration to inform the police so that adequate security arrangement would be provided.”
In response, 2face took to his Facebook page, to confirm his stance.
“I will not keep quiet. I’m just a musician with a point of view and the ear of my fans,” he wrote.
“I have dedicated my time and resources to peace building, voter’s education towards peaceful elections and youth engagement in governance in Nigeria.
“This match is about demanding that our leaders connect with all the people of Nigeria.”
