The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, will return to Nigeria from the United Kingdom on Friday.
Report says preparations are in top gears ahead of the ‘heroic’ return of the former general, who left Nigeria for the UK where he delivered an inspiring speech at the Chattam House.
Punch reports that while some of his ardent supporters are pushing for a heroic reception for him, others want him received in a low key.
However, the leadership of the APC was yet to settle for any of the suggestions at the moment.
Confirming the development, the National Publicity Secretary of the APC, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, said that the party’s presidential candidate would be back in the country at the weekend.
He said, “I spoke with him (Buhari) this morning (Wednesday), he will be back in the country God willing this weekend.”
On the grand finale of the party’s presidential campaign rallies, he said, “I cannot confirm the exact date yet because we have to meet. It is when we meet and a decision is taken that it will be announced.”
