Operatives Defuse Bomb In Borno IDPs Camp

Security operatives in Maiduguri, Borno State, have detected a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted near Yarwa Internally Displaced Persons camp in the state.
The bomb that was demobilised was so powerful that when it was detonated, it made such a loud noise that it sent residents into panic.

Speaking with Hausa service of the BBC, sources said that the arrested suspects were among the refugees who fled Bama for safety.
“They (suspects) claimed to be members of the Civilian JTF in charge of the refugees’ camp,” they said.

Meanwhile, a source who craved anonymity said that troops recorded some victories over Boko Haram’s suicide bombers in Kaga local government area in the state as they succeeded in tracking down a would-be female suicide bomber in Ngamdu township.
Also, three suicide bombers heading for a military checkpoint along Damaturu-Maiduguri Road were killed before they could reach their destination.
