Fifteen Die In Delta Auto Crash

About 15 people have reportedly died from an auto crash involving a Delta City bus and a truck on Thursday, August 6, at Ubulu Okiti junction in Aniocha South Local Government, Delta state, according to Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) officials.

The FRSC  in the state confirmed the terrible accident to newsmen through the sector commander, Rindom Kumven, this morning in Asaba.
He said the accident occurred when a bus, marked DT 266 B28, enroute Asaba-Abraka, was trying to avoid a head on collision with a truck.

The sector commander disclosed that at the time of the accident, the truck was trying to tow another articulated vehicle, loaded with iron, which had broken down.
He said the driver of the bus, on sighting the barrier ahead, attempted to swerve to the other side of the road, but lost balance in the process and he ran into the truck.
Kumven confirmed 14 persons died on the spot, while FRSC officials rescued two others and took them to Mother and Child Hospital at Issele-Uku.
The sector commander, however, said that one of them later died and the other had since been discharged.
