Thomas Muller and Arjen Robben won the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich as well as impressing at the World Cup, with the German winning the tournament and the Dutchman one of the event’s standout individual performers.

Atletico Madrid’s success in 2014 was largely down to a fantastic team unit, but if there was one standout player then Diego Costa is that man. After helping them to a Liga title and the Champions League final, he moved to Chelsea and made a superb start to Premier League life.
Alexis Sanchez has moved from Barcelona to Arsenal and is thriving with the responsibility of being the Gunners’ main man. Carlos Tevez won the Serie A title during his first year with Juventus and is currently top-scorer in his second season.
Sergio Aguero, when fit, has been one of Europe’s most prolific attackers in 2014 and Raheem Sterling enjoyed a great year with Liverpool as they finished runners-up to the Argentine’s Manchester City side.
Shakhtar Donetsk’s Luiz Adriano tops the Champions League goalscoring charts for 2014-15 with nine goals in the group stages, while Graziano Pelle has been able to find the net with regularity for Feyenoord and Southampton this year.
Asamoah Gyan enjoyed a fine World Cup with Ghana and continues to score goals for fun in Qatar, while Robbie Keane was voted MLS’ MVP for his performances with LA Galaxy.
