Seven persons die while celebrating Buhari’s victory in Kano

No fewer than seven persons lost their lives in Kano state during a celebration that greeted the victory of General Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday night.
It was gathered that five out of the seven persons that lost their lives, majority were children who were crushed by a vehicle along Kofar Dawanau in Dala local government area of the state.

A staff at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital who spoke on the ground of anonymity said seven persons were confirmed dead at the hospital on Tuesday night.

 

The source said the deceased met their end at various locations in the State and were brought into the hospital while celebrating Buhari’s victory at the polls.
While speaking on the incident, ASP Magaji Muswa Majia, the Police Public Relations Officer in the State said no formal report has been made yet.

 

Majia called on members of the public to exercise caution during celebrations, appealing to parents to caution their wards against jumping unto major roads
