80-year-old woman abducted in Ekiti

Residents of Ilogbo-Ekiti in Ido/Osi Local Government Area of Ekiti State have been thrown into a State of pandemonium following the abduction of an 80-year-old woman, Mrs. Rose Aina.

According to the report gathered that Mrs. Aina was kidnapped on Tuesday at about 9pm and her whereabouts remains unknown.
Following the abduction of the octogenarian, a search party was said to have been sent out to comb the forest in the community and other neighbouring towns with no success recorded.

The 80-year-old was said to be asleep when the kidnappers struck and whisked her away to an unknown destination.

A source said: “We have been searching for the old woman without success and nobody knows where they had taken her to. The kidnappers have not made any contact since then and this has heightened our fear. This is a poor, old woman, who only depends on what her children and Good Samaritans give to her.
“The whole community is afraid and we now live in perpetual fear because it can happen to anybody. We are concerned because we no longer feel safe.”

Confirming the incident, the State Police spokesman, Alberto Adeyemi, said the Command was working towards rescuing the octogenarian from her abductors.
