CAF Champs: Enyimba Edge Smouha

Egyptian side Smouha slumped to a 1-0 loss at Nigeria’s Enyimba in the first leg of the African Champions League round of 32 on Sunday.

On their Champions league debut, Smouha made it to the round of 32 after edging out Libya’s Ahli Tripoli on penalties in the preliminary round.
The Alexandrians, who qualified for the Champions League after snatching the league’s second spot from Zamalek last season, have no other choice but to win when they host the Nigerians in the return leg in Egypt next month.

Smouha and Ahly are Egypt’s representatives in the Champions League, as Zamalek are competing in the Confederation Cup this season.
