An Abuja Grade 1 Area Court has convicted a 29-year-old businessman, Emeka Ogubuike to six months imprisonment for stealing an ATM card owned by one Mary Agbo and subsequently using it to perform a transaction worth N85, 000.
The accused, who resides in Kubwa area of Abuja, was imprisoned for stealing which contravenes Section 288 of the Penal Code.
The accused pleaded guilty to the charge read and was convicted to six months imprisonment with an option of of N20,000 fine by the Judge, Mohammed Marafa.
The Judge also ordered Ogubuike to pay a compensation fee of N85, 000 to the plaintiff.
